Abstract

Environment surrounding the unfit infant may influence his health standard
so study the surrounding environment ( his family level ) and exposure to
find out if there is a relationship between the sickness of the infant and the
surrounding environment if any.
A cross-sectional case control study has been performed to compare between
50 cases of newly born infants present in the intensive care unit (ICU) for
various health problems to 50 of control infants coming for routine
vaccination and follow up.
Results show significant difference of father and mother occupation which
indicate low class to be a possible effect among the cases in relation to
controls , also mother education showed significant effect on the infant wellbeing
. This may indicate that low socio-economic status of the parent may
show itself on the health of their offspring so as long as this social classes
has limiting capability for standing the expenses of managing their newly
born of the expensive incubator . supplying those poor families should fall
on the hand of the government which in developing countries has limited
budget for such needs .
So education of the population and a better working environment can stand
the expenses needed for treatment and management of their ill infants.
Study showed a significant effect of time and side of refuse and waste
disposal to affect the well-being of the infant and also as a family behavior
concerning indoor fuel used , there is harmful effect of using kerosene set in
relation to using natural gas .As long as there is harmful effect to pesticides
exposure on the infant .
We have to avoid such harmful effect that might influence the newborn
health , so special attention has to be paid to avoid exposure to pesticide and
those which are exposed to such harmful element should be considered
seriously and has the priority of regulation attention before and during
pregnancy . lastly personal cleanliness and hygiene as found to influence the
state of newly born infant so special attention has to be paid to personal
cleanliness as frequent taking bath to avoid bad effect on offspring.
