Abstract

Phytochemical and Biological Investigation on Certain plants belonging to Wodeytia bifurcata, a large family of more than 2,700 species in 202 genera, mainly tropical, often conspicuous family of usually unbranched, evergreen trees, shrubs, or lianas containing a number of economically important plants purposes. In this thesis, Wodeytia bifurcata that is presently cultivated in Egypt has been selected for the study. The study is divided into four chapters:
Chapter 1: DNA Profiling of Wodeytia bifurcata cultivated in Egypt using Random Amplified Polymorphic-DNA (RADP-PCR) Technique.
Chapter 2: Investigation of lipoidal matter of Wodeytia bifurcata cultivated in Egypt using GLC analysis.
Chapter 3: Phytochemical screening of the aerial parts of Wodeytia bifurcata.
Chapter 4: Phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Wodeytia bifurcata.
Chapter 5: Biological screening of the total aqueous methanolic and butanolic extract of the aerial parts of Wodeytia bifurcata .
Anti- inflammatory activity (through estimation of nitric oxide).
Anti- oxidant activity (Scavenging of DPPH radicals).
Cytotoxic activity against Hep-G2 (Hepatocarcinoma).
