Abstract


Bipolar TUR-P is a new advancement effetctive and safe (on the short and long term) for surgical treatment of BPH as:

1. Bipolar TUR-P is safer than Monoplar TUR-P, especially in regard to the avoidance of TUR syndrome.


2. Blood loss is not significant also due to properties of the bipolar plamakinetic energy.


3. Bipolar TUR-P does not affect continence or cause urethral stricture disease.


4. Post-operative pain after bipolar TUR-P is mainly a mild pain .


5. Bipolar TUR-P is expected to gradually replace most if not all other surgical techniques for BPH treatment.
