EVALUATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEVERITY OF LIVER CIRRHOSIS AND PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTS

Abstract
In patients with chronic liver diseases, pulmonary functions are frequently impaired.
This work was done to investigate the frequency of hypoxemia and characterize pulmonary function tests in patients with different degrees of liver cirrhosis. The study was conducted on 45 patients with liver cirrhosis who were classified into 3 main groups according to Child –pugh classification.
Group I: 15 patients with liver cirrhosis child A.
Group II: 15 patients with liver cirrhosis child B.
Group III: 15 patients with liver cirrhosis child C.
All patients were evaluated for pulmonary functions in terms of (ABG, Spirometry and DLCO).
