Abstract
Threatened abortiolt is a common occurTence, since one out of four or
• five pregnant women has vaginal spoiling or heavier bleeding during the early months of gestation_ 1\pproximately one half of these actually abort. Evidence of a link between subclinical vaginal infection and cervical . incompetence and the midtrimester abortion and pretenn labor is continu.ing to accumulate.
The ann of this work was to a1>sess the fate of early mid-trimester threatening abortion in Shatby Matemity University Hospital and its
various management strategies.
The study included twenty five cases of midtrimester threatening abortion recmited from the Shatby Maternity Hospital outpatient clinic,
fi!lfilling the following criteria:

Age between 20 and 35 years.
- Primi or multigravidae.
Gestational age between 16 and 26 weeks. Presenting with mild pain nr Vaginal bleeding.
