INTERACTION OF HUMIC ACID WITH TRACE ELEMENTS

Abstract
This work carried out study the effect of three different sources on the humic acids or their chemical properties offer that these humic acids used in experiments. The first experiment aimse to determined the between Fe, Mn, Cu or Zn and humic acids under different pH Values.
The second experiments carried out to study the retention of Fe or Zn by humic acid-clay (fme and coarse) complexes at different pH Values, and ionic strength.
The humic acids were isolated from an alluvial soil (A) (Shibin El-Kom, Menofiya Governorate), sandy soil irrigated by sewage sludge (El-Gabal El-Asfar, El-Kaliobiya Governorate) and compost of wheat straw-alluvial soil (B). The humic acids were purified and analyzed for (C, H, N, 0), ash content(%), some micronutrients (ppm), total acidity and functional groups meq/ I OOg acid. The IR analysis of the purified humic acids were run.
The clay fraction (< 2 urn) was separated from the surface (0-
20m) layer of alluvial the soil samples. Carbonate salts were removed using sodium acetate and organic matter was oxidized by H 202 . The isolated clay was fractionated to course and fine clay fraction (2-1 and
<1, respectively), which were air dried, ground and stored in dry condition.
