EMERGENCY SCLEROTHERAPY FOR VARICEAL BLEEDING USING FIBRIN ADHESIVE THERAPY

Abstract
Fibrin sealant agent has been used for sclerotherapy and the results with fibrin adhesive in emergency sclerotherapy were encouraging.
The aim of the present work is to study the advantages and effectiveness of emergency fibrin sealant therapy using natural tissue adhesive as compared to usual sclerotherapy using irritant sclerosant namely ethanola- mine oleate.
This study was carried out on 36 patients who presented with acute variceal bleeding.
Patients included m this study were classified into two main groups :
Group I : 18 patients with acute variceal bleeding managed by urgent sclerotherapy using fibrin sealant therapy.
