and physical symptoms that occur in the week preceeding the onset of the

menstrual flow that interfere with normal functioning and disappear within

one or two days of menstrual flow. Although many women experiencie some

premenstrual disconifort, most of them do not consider these premenstrual
I
changes severe enough to disrupt their life. At the same time about 5-110% of

women suffered from severe premenstrual symptomatology that disrupts individual and family functioning. ,

This study was carried out aiming for studying the prevalence lfPMS among a group of teachers in Alexandria and to find out the relation Jetween some determinants and PMS.

To fulfill this aim, the study was conducted on a sample of 500

primary school teachers in Alexandria through a cross sectional approach.

The sample was selected by the method of proportional allocation from the six educational zones of Alexandria. The selected participants were married teachers in the age group of22-45 years. They were neither pregnan, nor in puerperium and they were provisionally healthy.
