Abstract

Experirrent I: This experirrent was conducted to study the effect of protein level ( 12 and 16%) on laying perforrrance of Broad Bre:"sted Bronz B.B.B and White Holland w.H tu:t:Key ferrales during the period
from 26 to 70 weeks of age. Each breed was represented in t\010 groups each of 23 birds (20 fpales and 3 nales). Results obtained can be summerised as follows:

1) Averages of live weights of B.B.B and W.H tu:t:Keys ferrales fed the

12 and 16% protein rations at 30, 34, 38 and 40 weeks of age were

4.118, 4.133, 4.363, 3.879, 4.671, 4.551, 4.852, 4.393, 4.780, 4.711,

4.993, 4.469, 4.943, 4.763, 5.234, 4.599 kg., respectively. TI1e statistical analysis revealed that the differences in live weight during the periods 30, 34, 38 and 40 weeks of age were significant.

2) Breed seemed to has no significant effect on live weight during the periods at 30, 34, 38 and 40 weeks of age, however protein level showed significant (P<0.05) effect on live weight especially at periods at 30, 34, 38 weeks of age for the favour of the ration
oontaining 12%'protein. At 48 weeks of age protein level had no I
I
significant effect on live weight at 48 weeks of age. I

0
3) Age at first egg in days was found to be 216, 217, 217 and 219 days for B.B.B and W.H females fed diets containing 12 and 16% protein, respectively.
