Abstract


During the last 20 years the excimer laser has dominated the field of the refractive surgery initially with surface ablation such as photorefractive keratectomy postoperative wound healing may cause stromal haze and affect the long term stability of the refractive correction with myopic regression as a well-known complication of high myopic correction. Within the last decade the femtosecond laser has replaced the manual microkeratome for cutting of the lasik flap surgical extraction of the refractive lenticule or RELEX has evolved as anew treatment in the field of keratorefractive surgery depending on the method of extraction of the lenticular RELEX is divided into RELEX flex and RELEX smile .
