Abstract
Abstract
A series of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide
[RMIM]Br ionic liquids had been synthesized and reported
through quaternization reaction. High product yields were
obtained (>90%). The synthesized ILs were verified through
FT-IR and
1
H-NMR spectroscopy. The addition of ionic
liquids to polymers has been reported to increase the
polymer electrolytes conductivity. PMMA/[RMIM]Br
polymer electrolyte films were prepared using solvent
casting method. The physico-mechanical and dielectric
properties were determined for prepared films with varied
[RMIM]Br ionic liquids concentration from 0 - 7 wt%. The
morphology of the polyelectrolyte films has been
characterized by scan electron microscope (SEM).
