Sherif El Sayed El Said Donia;

Abstract

The City would like to begin building a new neighborhood. It's a vision?

To create a community that is linked to the current urban landscape and offers a full range of local services within walking distance. It is based on the principles of sustainable development, and pedestrian, cycling, and public transit links will be a major priority.

People will maximize green spaces and promote covered, communal underground parking, they also will implement an ecological run off water management plan and favor the use of renewable energy sources.

The creation of a walking and bicycle path connecting the neighborhood with srounding neighbourhoods will make it easy for local residents and workers to take advantage of these facilities.

The neighborhood will be user-friendly, and areas will be designed to foster intergenerational exchange. Existing major arteries will be developed to encourage the establishment of shops, services, and restaurants with terraces, thus promoting urban effervescence.

Further more, the "sustainable development" is an issue of great importance in all humanities fields where it is a necessity if the posterity is to take their just and fair share in their communities. For this reason, the research will focuse on the sustainable urban neighbourhoods issues.

Sustainable neighbourhoods has been prepared to implement the objectives of the Planning Strategy which aims to guide the sustainable development of desert residential areas in egypt.
