Many theories have been considered as to be the cause of this condition such as anatomical and biomechanical factors, inflammatory, nutritional and traumatic theories. The incidence of plantar fasciitis increases in females over the age of forty. Patients usually suffering from pain, tenderness and may be swelling at the medial calcaneal tubercle. Many investigations can be used for its diagnosis. Roentgenogram of the heel ,heel ultrasound , bone scintigraphy and magnetic resonance imaging are of great value in the diagnosis.
