Abstract


the aim of current study was to evaluate the value of measurement of cervical length by transvaginal ultrasound as a predictor for the duration of medical second trimester pregnancy termination within 24 hours In our current study, trans-vaginal ultrasonographic assessment was done in 100 women with second trimesteric abortion before induction of abortion. This study was carried out at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital during the period from March 2014 and December 2014, it included 100 pregnant women who attended to our hospital for induction of midtrimesteric abortion. The age of the patient who included in this study was between 17-40 years old with their gestational age between 14-24 weeks, with singleton pregnancy and indication for elective pregnancy termination: structural anomalies incompatible with life, fetal demise and premature rupture of membranes.
