Evaluation of non-conventional control program for certain stored-product insects
Mai Adel Ibrahim Salama;
Abstract
Stored products of agricultural and animal origin are attacked by more than 600 species of coleopterous beetles, 70 species of lepidopteran moths and about 355 species of mites causing quantitative and qualitative losses.
Wheat, corn, and other cereal grains which are stored for periods of months or years prior to consumption are subjected to infestation by a variety of insect species. Such infestations lead to a reduction in the nutritive value of grain used for human or animal food and / or in germination of grain.
