Abstract
Following major arterial surgery the vascular patients are subject to specific effects that affect the body both generally and systemically which is of paramount intportance as the success of an operation depends on the knowledge of the vascular surgeon by these effects and how to deal with to correct any aberration.
The general and systemic body effects shortly includes:
• Dramatic decrease in cardiac output and arterial pressure.
• Impairment of the oxygen delivery to the tissues.
• serious coagulation defects.
• Left ventricular dilatation. cardiac ischemia and
heart failure.
• Severe hyp.,rtension with subsequent hemorrhage cllld neurological deficits.
