MORPHOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL STUDIES ON GASTROINTESTINAL NEMATODES IN GOATS
Amal Kamal Abbas EL-gayar;
Abstract
The bam studies were carried on twelve male goats kids of two month of age, 6 Alpine and 6 Boer Cross breed(Boer & Alpine) and infected with
5000 L3 Haemonchus contortus/ animal three times each infection ended by anthelmintic challenge, fecal and blood samples were collected for FEC, Plasma protein, eosinophil count and pepsinogen level, the results indicated that a significant differences were recorded between breed on eosinophil and worm count of H. contortus (P<0.05) and within breed on FEC but PCV, pepsinogen and serum protein level were not significant differences.
The grazing study were carried on thirty six male goats kids of 3 breeds, Spanish, Boer and Myotonic exposed to the pasture naturally infected with trichostrongyle helminthes three times and each exposure were ended by anthelmintic drugs and at the end of the trial all the goats were slaughtered. The results indicated that no significant differences for FEC (P>0.05 ), but there were significant differences for PCV and serum protein (P
Diatomaceous earths and its effect on helminth infection with the protein level on the goat diet carried out on 71 female goats of 2-3 years old challenged with 400 L3 H. contortus/ animal three times/ week for four week with two level of protein high level (9%) and low level ("%) and the results indicated that there were a significant differences for DE in the diet (P<0.05) for FEC, but no differences significant for either PCV or plasma protein levels.
