STUDY OF GASTRIC MUCOSAL HEPATOCYTE GROWTH FACTOR IN HELICOBACTER PYLORI GASTRITIS

Essam Abdelkhalek Abdelshafey Ghaith;

Abstract

H. pylori is the most common bacterial infection affecting humans leading to gastritis up to adenocarcinoma. H. pylori
I induces hyperproliferation of the gastric mucosa which may be
contributed to increased production of H.G.F. in the gastric
I mucosa.

In our study, 40 patients presenting with symptoms of epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting following meals were
I recruited for upper G.I.T. endoscopy and antral biopsies for
histopathological grading of gastritis and the presence of H.
I pylori and grading the intensity of H. pylori infection in antral
mucosa, at the same time to stain the mucosa by means of immunohistochemical techniques to detect the degree of
I expression of H.G.F. receptors in response to H. pylori
gastritis which is in a direct correlation to the expression of
I H.G.F. in the gastric mucosa.
