Study of the Coagulation Factor VII gene Polymorphism In Patients Undergoing Coronary Catheter Intervention

Manal Mokhtar Sayed;

Abstract

The aim of this prospective study was to assess the role of coagulation factor VII arg353Gln polymorphism as risk predictor of complications following percutaneous coronary intervention. The study was conducted on 24 patients suffering from CAD and undergoing coronary intervention.All patients were followed for one month after angioplasty for reccurence of thrombus in form of myocardial infarction or the need for target vessel revascularization.In this study ,in patients expressing arg353Gln polymorphism ; FVIIa and FVIIc were significantly lower than in patients expressing the arg/arg genotype
.Factor VII arg353Gln polymorphism decreases FVII activity , and
. presence of Gin allele could be protective against thrombus formation after PCI.
