Patients undergoing open heart surgery need many laboratory investigations whether pre-operative , intra-operative , or post­ operative , Most of these investigations are done as a routine for any patient undergoing major surgical operations , However, there are specific laboratory investigations which are done specifically for open heart surgical patients , Cardiopulmonary Bypass "CPB":
