ESTIMATION OF THE LEVELS OF SOME ACUTE PHASE REACTANT PROTEINS IN SENESCENCE
Marim El-Sayed Mohamed El-Sayed;
Abstract
The response of an individual to growing old depends more upon the previous pattern of life than upon anything in the ageing process
'
itself. Thus, although some generalization may usefully be made about
old age, the elderly should hot be regar ed as a hoinogenous group.
The physiological age changes including changes in some acute phase reactants and tissue response. So, Estimation of these acute phase reactants in healthy Gerons is Valuable.
This study was designed to estimate the levels of some acute phase reactant proteins "C-reactive protein, arMacroglobulin, Lipoprotein (a) and Fibrinogen" in healthy elderly individuals.
For achieving this goal, forty healthy individuals from Shark - EL Madina Hospital were included Two groups: group I, Ten persons below
60 years and group II, Thirty persons above or equal 60 years.
