Abstract


Radiotherapy treatment of cancer is often limited by the side effects induced in normal surrounding tissues. So extensive studies have been carried out to investigate the cytogenetic hazards of radiation exposure, others have been focused on some compounds that exerted radiation protection against these hazards. Curcumin, a natural biologically active compound extracted from rhizomes of Curcuma species, has been shown to possess potent anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and anti-oxidative properties. This study was undertaken to investigate the effects of curcumin on radiation induced damages in albino male mice. Experimental design:
