SHABAN DESOUKY ABOU-HUSSEIN;

Abstract

These studies were carried out to investigate the effect of different levels from organic fertilizer, i.e. chicken manure (dry or extract from chicken manure after 48h), compost at two rates (40 m3 and 60m3 /fed.) and two kinds from biofertilizer added to the soil (suspension from yeast, pesedoumonas and Bacteria dissolving phosphate) or inoculated with tuber as commercial
product called Microbin, on vegetative growth, chemical composition of potato tuber and yield. Besides, investigating the effect of reduced mineral fertilizer,i.e., to half or quarter the recommended dose by applying biofertilizers.
Two field experiments were carried out at the Taba farm of Sadat
city region, Al-Minofiya governorate in 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 growing season. Potato cultivars used was Nicola.
