THE USE OF INTERLOCKING NAILOF HUMEROUS IN TREATMENT OF FRACTURES OF HUMERAL BONE

ALY MOHAMADEAN MOHAMED;

Abstract

The technique of intramedullary nailing for internal fixation of fractures was introduced by G. Kuntscher (1940).
The biomechanical principle of. intramedullary splinting for fractures of long bones has became the subject of interest after a transient decline in popularity.
The use of closed interlocking nailing techniques meets the conditions nowadays considered desirable for the biological way of internal fixation.
The value and significance as a "Biological" "Bio-friendly"

method of internal fixation has enhanced by the use of interlocking nailing without preliminary reaming in conjunction with simplified percutaneous (closed) surgical technique.
Although interlocking techniques have improved the results for lower extremity long bone fractures, greatly, the indications for intramedullary fixation in the upper extremity are much more narrow, and much more subjective than for the femur and tibia.
Interlocking nailing of the humeral fractures has a much less well defined role. Concerns for using this technique in the humerus are entirely different from those in the femur (mechanical) or the tibia
