RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF FLEXOR TENDON INJURIES IN CHILDREN

Ahmed Mohamed Shawky Mohamed;

Abstract

Primary repair after flexor tendon laceration in children often leads to satisfactory results in comparison with adults. However, published results of digital performance after flexor tendon repair in children document the fact that, despite numerous clinical advances, some problems still remain. The concept that tendons can be inunediately repaired in any zone with the expectation of returning favorable tendon excursion is not well established. Furthermore, the period of postoperative immobilization, the type of inunobilization (short spEnt or an above-elbow plaster), and the necessity for an early-mobilization program are still controversial.
