Stress Induced In The Main Abutments Of a Long Span Bridge Using Different Number Of a Modified Implants

Abstract
A long edentulous bounded span is one of the mam obstacles hindering the fabrication of a fixed restoration due to deficient natural teeth support. The use of dental implants as additional abutments served to solve this existing problem of reduced support.
This study was conducted in an attempt to solve the problem of a fixed prosthesis in long bounded edentulous span through implant-tooth supported restoration.
The stress induced in the simulated natural abutments of a long bounded edentulous span restored either by one or two implants, with and without incorporation of a resilient material between the implant and its superstructure, was evaluated by the use of bonded electrical resistance strain gauges.
