Abstract


Fungi are eukaryotic protists without chlorophyll. Dermatophytes are a group of closely related keratinophilic fungi that infect keratinized tissues (hairs, nails and skin). Dermatophytes are about 40 species placed under three genera: Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton. •
