FIBEROPTICS IN ANAESTHESIA

Ramy Ragaey Ramses;

Abstract

• The use of fiberoptic equipment in anaesthesia is now so important and essential because of its diagnostic and therapeutic uses. Fiberscope is used in intubation in both awake and anaesthetized patients in case of difficult intubation by rigid laryngoscope. The flexibility of the fiberscope enable its use in introduction of the tracheal tube through the oral cavity in a patient who can not open his mouth properly.
