BIOMARKERS OF PERIPHERAL ATHEROSCLEROTIC OCCLUSIVE DISEASE OF THE LOWER LIMBS. CORRELATION WITH SEVERITY OF DISEASE AND PROGNOSTIC VALUE AFTER CONVENTIONAL AND ENDOVASCULAR REVASCULARIZATION
Mohamed Hesham Ahmed Fouad Ismail;
Abstract
This study represents an application of the principles of the theory of proximate and evolutionary causation of endothelial heterogeneity. It is based on the principles of the biological model developed by Nicolas Turbingen in 1960s. It involves both evolutionary and proximate mechanisms of the interaction of the endothelium and the external and internal environmental conditions necessary to maintain the local environment, but possibly with disadvantage of the human body. The development of biomarkers from the selective heterogeneity of the endothelium would help in providing vascular address system, that would help in mapping the vascular system, and targeting therapy to the disadvantaged segment of the endothelium, perhaps much better than the tumour markers of oncology.
The study aims at use of the biomarkers, mostly proteomic, and also belonging to the metabolome to monitor atherosclerotic occlusive disease of the lower limbs.
