Abstract
3-Acetyl-l-ethyl-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one (2) and l ethyl-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one (3) were prepared and subjected to several and different chemical transformation aiming ·to synthesize novel quinolinone derivatives, which may have important biological activity. Compound 2, 3 were used to obtain a, -unsaturated carbonyl quinolinones (6a,b),
-ketoester 7 and a;y-diketoester 8 which, were used as an alternate precursor to produce many new five membered heterocycles as pyrazolyl, isoxazolyl, pyrazolotriazinyl, oxadiazolyl, pyrazolopyridazinyl as substituents to the quinolinone moiety. All the structures of the new products were identified on basis of their chemical behaviour, elemental and spectral analysis.
