Studies of the Electroplating of Some Alloys from Aqueous Solutions

Abstract

In industrial applications, components can be coated using various methods. One of these methods which widely used is electroplating. Direct applications of metal and alloy coatings using electroplating has considerable advantages. The process is significantly cheaper, little subsequent surface finishing is required and complex surfaces can be coated uniformly because the thickness of electrodeposited films can be easily controlled.
Interest in electrodeposition of chromium has increased recently because of its use in numerous application such as: hardness, resistance to heat, wear corrosion and low coefficient of friction. Cobalt and cobalt alloys are commoniy used for the purpose of corrosion protection. Bright cobalt is used for decorative requirements and its out standing protection, when plated over copper or semibright nickel, is especially noteworthy. Furthermore, electroplating of cobalt and of its alloys on steel is particularly important in electronic · memory device in computer and in electronics industry.
The present work was devoted to develop new baths which. are characterized by their cheapness in addition to their non-polluted nature, which enable us to deposit sound and
