CORRELATION BETWEEN CLASS II MALOCCLUSION AND CRANIOFACIAL DIMENSIONS

Abstract
Class II malocclusion is reported as one of the most frequently seen skeletal disharmonies 1n orthodontic population.
The purpose of this study was to find the possible relations between Class II malocclusion and different craniofacial dimensions.
The sample included subjects ranging in age from 18-
25 years with mean age (19.9±1.13), thirty subjects having Class II malocclusions, fifteen having Class II division 1 malocclusion and fifteen having Class II division 2 malocclusion and compared with normative data 1,3,71.
The following records were taken for each subject, lateral and Posteroanterior cephalometric X ray films were taken and comparison between the two malocclusion groups with selected normal sample was done. Analyses of fifty one angular and linear measurements were carried out using SPSS program (statistical package for scientific studies). Unpaired t-test was done to compare between normal occlusion and Class II division 1 malocclusion, normal occlusion and Class II division 2 malocclusion and between Class II division 1 malocclusion against Class II division 2
