Effect of Pouring Temperature and Ultrasonic Treatment on The Grain Size and Morphology of Al-4.5% Mg and Al-7% Si Cast Alloys
Ahmed Hatem Omar Abd El-Aziz El-Khoribi;
Abstract
Grain refinement has many beneficial effects on Al-cast alloys, such as increasing fluidity, reducing
hot cracking, reducing micro porosity, improving yield strength, and improving fracture
toughness. This work was carried out to investigate the effect of pouring temperature on the
grain size and morphology of Al-4.5% Mg (JIS-AC7A) and Al-7% Si (JIS-AC4C) cast alloys.
In addition, the effect of ultrasonic treatment (UST) was also investigated on the same alloys
