Abstract


Laser in situ Keratomileusis "LASIK"becomes a popular alternative in the management of refractive errors. LASIK involves the use of a microkeratome to create a corneal flap of a predetermined diameter and depth. The photoablation is made ill the stromal bed then the flap is laid lack down. There are several commercially available microkeratome systems used in LASIK. Studying different types of microkeratomes and comparing the cut edges and surface characteristics. of corneas with• respect to different • microkeratome parameters are 'Very important to minimize mkrokeratome related complications of LASIK.
