4D ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC MODELING
Mohamed Mohie El-Din El-Sayed;
Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to study, and analyze the spatial and temporal 4D patterns of the heart movements. 4D Ultrasound data will be acquired, enhanced, segmented, 4D modeled, visualized, analyzed and volumetric measurements will be estimated for Left Ventricle. Novel Enhancements and segmentation techniques such as active contour models will be used to segment the left ventricle chamber in 3D. Volumetric measurements and Ellipsoid model will be applied to different heart volumes to study the dynamics of the heart. These volumetric measurements and Ellipsoid model parameters will be estimated at different systolic and diastolic periods.
Reaching an accurate model for the left ventricle is a very important research and is considered as a sensitive indicator and diagnosis method of heart diseases, thus continuous researches and different approaches are still being done up till now for modeling the left ventricle.
