Abstract

Kidney disease arising from exposure to heavy metals plays a special role in nephrology because of the possibility of its prevention. Chronic renal disease resulting from occupational exposure to lead is readily identified and more intense than exposure in the general population. This work was done for studying some histological and histochemical changes in rat kidney following administration of lead as well as reversibility of such changes after arrest of treatment and also the effect of some chelating agents used in its treatment.

MATERIAL AND METHODS MATERIALS
I-ANIMALS:

In the present study seventy adult female Albino rats were used, each weighting from 180 to 200 grn. Strict care and hygiene were observed to keep them in normal and healthy conditions. The animals were divided into two main groups, one is used as control and the other group was given lead and divided into four subgroups.
