SEMINAL NEUTRAL ALPHA-1,4 GLUCOSIDASE ACTIVITY IN INFERTILE MALEPATIENTS

Abstract
This study was carried on (30) indi victuals classified into (3) groups according to their clinical and seminogram examination :-
Normal fertile control group (10 cases) .

- Oligoathenozoospermic infertile group with varicoc le (10 cases) .
- Oligoathenozoospermic infertile group without varicocele (10 cases). All the patients and control subjects were subjected to the through
history taking (Personal , present , and family). Also , general and local examination were done. Seminal analysis including emen volume , liquification time , PH of semen, sperm count, •sperm motility , and
percentage of abnormal forms.
Then neutral alpha - I ,4 glucosidase enzyme activity In seminal plasma was estimated by a double beam spectrophotometer at 400 nm.
The normal range of seminal a -glucosidase activity was 176 to 275 n.moU ml with a mean value of (222.6 ± 29.52). In oligoathenozoospermic infertile group with varicocele, the range of enzyme activity was 60 to 175 n • mol I ml with a mean value of (106.6 ± 38.6). But in oligoathenozoospermic infertile group without varicocele , the range of enzyme activity was 40 to 198 n - mol I ml with a mean value of (133.8± 60.44).
From our results we noticed tbnt , the seminal neutral a - 1,4 glucosidase activity in the ( 2) infertile groups was lower when compared

with that of the normal control group.
