Abstract

- Fourteen male patients with Kennedy class II modification 1 maxillary partial edentulism were selected to share in this study from the out-patient clinic of Prosthodontics Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain shams University according to the following criteria:
- Residual bone height below the maxillary sinus of 6-8 mm and width 5-6mm, requiring internal sinus lifting to gain additional 2-3mm increase in the bone height to accommodate dental implant 8-10 mm length and 4.2mm diameter.
- A pre-operative Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) was taken for each patient, to evaluate the presence of6-8 mm and width 5-6mm, requiring internal sinus lifting to gain additional 2-3mm increase in the bone height to accommodate dental implant 8-10 mm length and 4.2mm diameter at the second molar area.
- Sinus floor was examined along with the lining soft tissue of the sinus walls to detect any signs of infection, congestion, effusion or thickening of the sinus membrane.
