Misoprostol before Elective Caesarean Section for Decreasing the Neonatal Respiratory Morbidity A Randomized Control Trial

Soad Ismail El-Sorady;

Abstract

eonatal Respiratory morbidities are common neonatal outcome the worrisome the mothers the most when approaching labour. They vary in clinical presentations.
Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)
Self limited condition occurs usually due to non clearance of pulmonary fluid due to immature ENaC transition, lamellar bodies lack, immature lung epithelium, and defective surfactant production. So, gas exchange is inhibited
It occurs in term or near term infants, especially male newborns, and high percentage born to women with bronchial asthma mostly after caesarean section without labour.
Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
It is called hyaline membrane disease, usually in preterm neonates, due to pulmonary surfactant deficiency, in neonates born to high risk women as diabetics and hypertensives, may occurs due to genetic abnormalities, and usually occurs in white races.
Persistant pulmonary hypertension
