The Difference between Three Dimensional Ultrasound Volumetry of Gestational and Amniotic Sac Volume as Predictor For Miscarriage in Women With Threatened Abortion
Ahmed El-Saied Nosier;
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the role of the difference between three dimensional trans-vaginal ultrasound volumetry of gestational and amniotic sac in prediction of abortion in women with first- trimester threatened abortion.
A prospective observational study on 150 pregnant women with threatened abortion from 6 to 12 week of gestation till they complete 24 week of gestation by measuring the gestational and amniotic sac volumes of each case using three dimensional trans-vaginal ultrasound done.
It was noticed that 120 case (8o%) completed after 24 weeks of gestation (group A), while 30 case (20%) aborted before 20 weeks of gestation (group B). The groups did not differ in age, parity, number of previous abortions, or term
