DEVELOPMENT OF AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM USING ROBUST CONTROL

Abstract
The thesis consists of seven chapters that are concluded as follows:
Chapter1: Introduction
In this chapter, the automated manual transmissionis introduced identifying the main problem and its solution and presents the objective of this work.
Chapter2: Literature review
This chapter provides a literature review of the previous work done on the modeling and simulation, actuation and control of an automated manual transmission.
Chapter3: Vehicle Propulsion System Mathematical Modeling
Modeling of the vehicle used in this work was presented with all the parameters needed to simulate the system; a simulation model of the vehicle represents the equations of motion was also presented. Validation and verification of the model has been discussed with its results. Simulation of the proposed clutch system using MATLAB was illustrated.
Chapter4: AMT Experimental setup
This chapter provides design and operation of the actuators used in this work, it offers also complete details about the mechanical test rig used in this work, driver circuit used to control the actuators motors, position and speed sensors used with their calibration charts and the control unit based on arduino control cards.
Chapter5: AMT control algorithm
This chapter shows the imposed fuzzy control system model, membership functions of inputs and outputs, fuzzification process, rules and defuzzification process using mamdani model.
Chapter6: Results
The simulation and experimental tests accomplished with their results and curves are explained in details
Chapter7: Conclusion and future works
This chapter contains the conclusions of the thesis in addition to the future work that is intended to be done.
