Abstract
The present investigation was carried out during 2002 and 2003 at the greenhouse of the Ornamental Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University to determine the tolerance of Brassaia arboricola var. 'Variegata' and Ficus microcarpa var. 'Hawaii' plants to various concentrations of some pollutants applied to the irrigating water, their effects on the growth and chemical constituents, and the plants ability to be cultured in contaminated areas.
