Alaa Heussin Yousef;
Abstract
Diagnostic curettage has form many years been the method of choice for the diagnosis of endometrial cancer in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding. This technique carries a small but real risk of morbidity and even mortality. Further more D and C causes a great deal of anxiety to the patient. with the knowledge that approximately 70% of diagnostic curettages result in a benign endometrial condition, an improved pre operative evaluation could reduce the number of curettages and bring down the cost considerably. This has led to the search for other less invasive methods for screening for endomethial pathology. One of such methods is the Trans vaginal ultrasonography.
