Elective Penile Surgery

Abstract
Penile lengthening and widening gained tremendous interest in male population all over the world. Considerable improvement of penile aesthetic appearance and size is now possible although this surgery remains a challenge requiring strict attention to details and meticulous techniques.
The absence of any penile abnormality in many cases is even more suggestive of an underlying inability to evaluate the proportion of their genitalia, a psychological Disorder known as penile dysmorphophobia which is a part of wide known condition called body dysmorphic disorder.
There are many procedure used to increase the penile length and girth which includes surgical and non surgical methods.
The surgical methods includes regarding penile lengthening releasing of the suspensory ligament of the penis may allow penile lengthening. The ligament is released for a width of one finger breadth along the length of the pubic symphysis by incising directly on the periosteum in the midline. This is usually achieved through a pubic transverse incision just above the penopubic junction. A V-Y advancement flap based distally at the penopubic junction may give the appearance of increased flaccid penile length.
The most common method for penile girth extension was lipofilling but with disappointing outcomes. Also synthetic materials like inject able materials (hyaluoronic acid) were used with moderate results put not permanent. Flaps are known to be more reliable for girth augmentation.
Regarding to curvature correction it includes two technique penile shortening procedures and penile lengthening procedures.
