Nevein Abd EL Salam Hussein;
Abstract
Communication skills are those skills, which promote good relationship among people. Health professionals require these skills to establish, maintain, and terminate effective helping relationships with patients. There are two types of communication, verbal and non-verbal. Generally non-verbal communication is considered more reliable than verbal communication.
Communication skills are a particularly important aspect of health teaching that students need to learn. As a principle, teaching requ1res effective communication and rapport. Creating rapport is a fundamental and foundation skill since the nurse cannot influence patients effectively if she is not in rapport with them.
