Clinical and Histopathological Evaluation of Regenerative Potential of Immature Permanent Teeth with Necrotic Pulp After Different Dentin Surface Treatments

Amr Ahmed Bayoumi;

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to assess the
regenerative potential of young permanent immature nonvital
teeth following different dentin surface treatments.
The study included histopathologic, clinical and
radiographic changes. The study consisted of two parts;
animal and human parts.
The animal part was performed for histopathologic
and radiographic evaluation of the treatment outcomes over
three months of follow-up.
The total number of teeth (144) was divided into three
equal groups according to the post-treatment evaluation
period; group I, group II and group III for evaluation
periods of two weeks, six weeks and three months
respectively. Each group included 48 teeth and was further
subdivided into 36 experimental teeth and 12 control teeth.
The experimental samples were also subdivided into six
equal subgroups according to the treatment protocol:
subgroup (A) Blood Clot, subgroup (B) Blood Clot +
Collagen, subgroup (C) Blood Clot + EDTA, subgroup (D)
Blood Clot + EDTA + Collagen, subgroup (E) Blood Clot
+ MTAD, subgroup (F) Blood Clot + MTAD + Collagen
and two control subgroups; subgroup (G) positive control
