FLAP RECONSTRUCTION OF UPPER LIMB

Abstract
In this study, t\\'enty-five cases underwent flap reconstruction of upper limb defects due to post-traumatic and post-bum etiology. Flaps used were local, distant or free tissue transfer.
Evaluation of the results was done by the following, safety coverage, preservation of both form and function of the limb, donor site morbidity, cosmetic appearance, complications, period of hospital stay, and satisfaction of both the patient and the surgeon.
Local flaps \Vere used in 13 cases, distant flaps in 8 cases, and free tissue transfer in 4 cases.
No complications were observed in 17 cases, minor complications that did not affect the outcome of reconstruction occwTed in 7 cases, and major complications occulTed in a single case of re-implantation and led to failure of reconstruction.
