Current Status of the Implication of the Clinical Practice Pattern in Hemodialysis Prescription in Regular Hemodialysis Patients in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate Sector I

Abstract


End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is one of the main health problems in Egypt. This work is a part of project aiming at Statement of the current status of dialysis patient in Egypt using a questionnaire. This project is modulated by Nephrology department,Ain Shams University. This study was done in OCT.2015.
Our study sample consisted of 483 clinically stable chronic patients on regular thrice- weekly HD. Patients were collected from Kafr El SheikhGovernorate sector I.
Results of this study demonstrated that there were many causes for ESRD in the study population, where HTN was responsible for (29.6%) of these cases and DM was responsible for (24.1 %). In our study, the mean value of time on HD was 3.8 (± 3.4) years. The mean value of Pts dry weight was 72.4 (±11.9) Kg.
Work status in the study population showed that (72 %) of them were not employed. Dependency status in the study population was showed that (21%) of them were dependent patients.
In our study the mean hemoglobin level of our patients was was 9 (± 1.6) gm/dl. In our study the percentage of patients receiving regular erythropoietin was (99.2%).
The mean value of PTH was 194.55 (± 221.56) pg/dl in our study. As regard vitamins use in the study population ( 77.3 %) of them were receiving vitamin B complex , as regard L-Carnitine (39.5 %) of them were receiving it; as regard vitamin D there were ( 94.3 %) of our patients
