EFFECT OF INGESTION OF SOLUBLE DIETARY FIBER ON CALCIUM ABSORPTION IN EXPERIMENTAL RATS

Abstract
The effect of ingestion of soluble dietary fiber (guar gum and locust bean gum) in different levels on calcium absorption in male (Sprague - Dawley strain) was studied. The rats were classilicd to nine groups. One group received the basal diet and represents the control group. The other eight groups received the tested diets either as locust bean gum or guar gum at levels 3%, 5%, 7% and I 0%.
