Philosophy of Gast Bracing for Treatment of glosed Fractures of Long Bones

Hisllam Samell Slwlaby;

Abstract

Functional bracing of diaphyseal fractures is not merely a technique but a philosophy of fracture management. The success of this method of treatment is predicated on the belief that the early gradual introduction of function to the injured limb and motion at the fracture site are necessary to create an environment that is conductive to osteogenesis (Sarmiento et al,
2000).
